It’s not surprising that the famous politician Louis-Joseph Papineau decided to build a sumptuous manor there during the period of 1846 to 1850. Today it’s possible to visit the Manoir Papineau National Historic Site of Canada as well as the famous Fairmont Le Château Montebello, which had earned its four stars in the hearts of many vacationers!

The region is chalked full of rural sites and panoramic drives that lead you to romantic and charming getaways. The Parc Oméga allows you to discover wild animals up close, as they roam free in their natural environment and which you can meet at your car window. Visit some of the historical and heritage sites and waterfalls as well as the parc national de Plaisance and the Réserve faunique Papineau-Labelle.
